Pet Of The Week

This past week I launched our Instagram (which you can find here). To comemorate this special moment I also decided to do a pet of the week. Don't worry if you missed the first week, just send pics our way for next week's contender!

Anyway, without further ado... The pet of the week is...

Zoe actually has her own instagram, which you can find here. She's an energetic boxer with a bubbly personality. Well worth a follow!

Hey there!

A quick note before we get into this week's issue. I was talking with my wife's grandparents at the dinner table when they mentioned that a small town publication that they used to read had a pet of the week. So naturally I decided we needed that too!

Anyway, my main question is (especially to the older folks) are there any other sections or columns you'd like to see?

Now, let's dig into this week's issue.

Ristretto Lounge

If I'm being honest, I don't remember the first time I met Johan Jo of Ristretto Lounge. I met him well before Ristretto (he actually made the wedding video for my wife and me) but we were fast friends. We always talked plans about the future.

Johan told me in 2018 that he wanted to start a coffee shop. I remember it vividly because he described it in such detail. It was kind of like a Tolkien book. He described the painstaking training he went through to become a coffee aficionado, about how he wanted to integrate his heritage into the shop, and his desire to be a place where everyone felt welcomed.

All of these small town businesses are so unique because they're modeled after the people who run them. Ristretto is a perfect example of this. During the past few years they've nailed their coffee program with partnerships and key tastings. During COVID they expanded into pastries. From there they took a trip to New York and perfected their bagel recipe.

What started out as a coffee shop is quickly becoming my favorite lunch / brunch spot because you just can't get their food anywhere else.

Need I say more? If you're looking for a lunch or brunch spot go try Ristretto Lounge's new brunch menu. If you don't know what to order ask for an Americano with the Hangover Bowl. It's my favorite so far!
